The thesis

The New Earth Economy, in plain terms.

A visionary idea is only useful if a board can act on it. So here is the thesis without the mysticism: what is changing, why meaning is the currency, and what it asks of your business.

For a hundred years, the economy ran on a single assumption: that people are consumers, and that value is something a business extracts from them. It built extraordinary scale. It also built a system that treats attention as a resource to mine and trust as a cost to minimize. That system is now hitting its limits, and the brands that will compound value from here are the ones that see it first.

The New Earth Economy is the name Meaning Global gives to what comes next: an economy where a business grows by growing the people it serves. We call the operating model Humanistic Capitalism. It is not philanthropy bolted onto profit, and it is not a compliance exercise. It is a claim about where durable value now comes from.

Why meaning is the currency

Every previous era of value had a currency. Industrial value ran on production. Digital value ran on attention. The next form runs on meaning: whether a brand genuinely improves the life of the human on the other side of the transaction.

Meaning is the one form of value that does not depreciate with scale or time. A scarcity signal weakens the moment it is copied. An attention hook decays as soon as the audience adapts. Meaning compounds, because it is built on a real relationship between what a brand does and what a person actually needs.

The new physics of the economy is simple: for a business to flourish, humanity must also.Dr. Martina Olbert

From debt-based extraction to human flow

The old model is what we call debt-based corporate extraction: value pulled out of people, culture and the planet faster than it is put back, with the shortfall carried as an invisible debt. It works until the debt comes due, in eroding trust, thinning differentiation and rising cost of relevance.

The replacement is meaning-based human flow: value that circulates rather than drains, because the growth of the business and the flourishing of its people are wired to move together. When that is true, human sovereignty, the capacity of people to live well and choose freely, becomes a logical output of the economy rather than a casualty of it.

What this means for your business

You do not have to accept the entire worldview to use the tool. Concretely, the thesis says your most defensible source of future value is the human value you create and can prove. The Sovereign Hexagon is how we make that measurable, and the Sovereign Audit is how we find where yours sits today.

The architecture

A thesis needs a structure, or it stays a slogan. Ours is the Sovereign Hexagon: six dimensions of a meaningful, sovereign human life that a brand can create value across. It turns “create meaning” from an aspiration into a map you can audit a business against, one pillar at a time.

Common questions

The thesis, answered directly.

What is the New Earth Economy?

The New Earth Economy is an emerging economic model in which a business creates value by improving human life, rather than extracting value from it. Its currency is meaning, and its operating philosophy is Humanistic Capitalism. In practice it reframes the goal of a brand from maximizing consumption to maximizing human flourishing, on the argument that the two are increasingly the same thing.

What is Humanistic Capitalism?

Humanistic Capitalism is a form of capitalism whose goal is to maximize global human flourishing directly through business. It keeps the engine of markets and profit, but changes what the engine is pointed at: value that circulates between a brand and the people it serves, rather than value extracted from them. It is the operating model of the New Earth Economy.

Why is meaning described as the currency of the economy?

Because meaning is the form of value that compounds instead of depreciating. Scarcity and attention, the currencies of the last two eras, weaken as they scale. Meaning, the genuine improvement a brand makes to a person’s life, strengthens a relationship over time, which is why it is the most durable basis for future value.

How does a business start applying this?

With the Sovereign Audit: a diagnostic that maps a brand and its value-creation onto the six pillars of the Sovereign Hexagon, showing where the business already creates human value and where it does not yet. It turns the thesis into a concrete picture of a specific brand.
